一、教学内容：
新标准英语(一起)五年级上册Reading for pleasure 《The Elves and the Shoemaker》.教材分析：本节课是新标准英语(一起)五年级上册中的一堂英语阅读课，通过这堂课让学生学习小精灵与鞋匠的故事的同时，增强学生的感恩意识，进一步提高学生学习和使用英语的兴趣。
二、教学设计：
英语作为一种交际性语言，其地位众所周知。而阅读是语言学习的重要方面之一，所以阅读既要合理同时又要科学，通过阅读，主体的感知、理解、评价、创造是十分重要和必不可少的。本课是Reading（精读课），按照英语新课程标准的要求，这堂课应当是“以任务贯穿读、听、说的活动，让学生通过‘感知－概括－应用’的思维来增长知识，发展技能”。
基于此，我教学设计的落脚点有二：
1.学生通过阅读学习，有助于提高学生的阅读技能和自主学习技能。2.通过阅读进行语音、单词、短语和句子处理；通过阅读进行意义建构，在与文本相互作用的过程中，在理解、思辨的过程中培养学生的语言输出技能，即说话技能和写话技能。
三、教学目标：
（一）知识目标
1．能听、说、读、写单词elves(elf的复数形式)、shoemaker、poor、money、leather.2.掌握下列单词和短语：There was（There is）、one piece of、one pair of、go to bed、come into、want to.3．能对故事内容进行提问和回答。
5．正确理解和朗读短文内容，能运用动词的过去时态讲述一个故事
（二）技能目标
1.能初步掌握在短文中划找信息和新知的阅读方法。2.能对故事内容进行复述。
（三）情感目标
教育学生要善于帮助别人，要有一颗感恩之心，懂得回报！
四、教学重点和难点：
1．阅读方法与技巧引导和渗透。2．正确理解短文内容，能够复述故事。
五、课前准备：
多媒体课件，单词、短语卡片，六、教学过程： Step 1.Pre-reading 1.Greetings and introduction.问候学生，进行教师的自我介绍。
（通过轻松愉快的真实交流，建立了融洽的师生交流渠道，为教学 2 作了铺垫。）2.Leading-in导入

Read the story in pairs.Underline the difficult words、phrases or sentences, then discu in group.2.Read and choose(读一读，选一选): 给出四个问题，课件提示学生快速阅读文章,选出答案。只找出需要的信息，其它信息迅速跳过。
（设计意图：通过问题引导学生进入第一次阅读，给学生相关阅读提示，培养学生的阅读方法，渗透学法指导。）2.Scanning（扫读）
a、Read and underline the answers: 提出了五个问题，请学生按问题所在的图片依次朗读，逐步找出问题的答案，并用笔划出来。b、Answer the questions.C、Retell the story.（设计意图：引导学生顺着主线，展开对文本的研读，边读边划出关键词或句子，培养学生“抓重点”、根据问题来捕捉有用信息等阅读技能。）
