So first,I would like to tell you some information about the tibetans,the tibetan nationality is one of the 56 minority groups in china,like other ethnic nationalities in china,the tibetan is fond of dancing and singing,锅庄is a kind of group dancing that is commonly believed to shared between the tibetans and qiang in 阿坝 prefecture.in some places,a grand meeting is usually held,in which a sorcerer’s dancing is performed,people in colourful drees wear weird masks when they sing and dance.The diet in the tibetan areas is based primarily on tasted barley flour,wheat flour as well as mutton and beef.they drink a brew,青稞酒，made from barley,tea and salt are their daily neceities.two of the most popular varities are 糌粑 and 雅茶。
糌粑is roasted with 青稞 barley flour,it is the staple food of tibetans,similar to fried flour,but its major ingredients are highland barley,peas and oat,tibetans bring 糌粑 with them when they go to work ,herd or travel.As for 雅茶 tea,it is made of large leaves of the tea shrubs and produced in 雅安,so it gets the name “雅茶”，it is a very strong tea and smells fragrant,tibetans eat much meat daily,so they drink 雅茶 tea to digest food.The tibetan new year is one of the most important tibetan holidays,it occurs about the same time as the chinese new year,but it is caculated according to the tibetan lunar calender.At cock crow early in the morning on the first day of the tibetan new year,housewives get up and carry “new water”,it is said that heaven offers the “new water ” to tibetan people,and the fuller the bucket is with this new water,the more prosperousthe family will be in the coming year,any one who drinks the “new water”will be free from illne and enjoy a long and healthy life.Well ,there are many other interesting customs in the tibetan new year,such as horse racing and offering 哈达，let’s have a break,later, I will tell you more about the tibetans,thanks.
