进入二十一世纪，人类的科学技术得到了空前的发展，特别是计算机的应用与普及，改变着新一代人的生活方式和思想观念。计算机不再是实验室里的高科技仪器，它已悄悄地走进了普通家庭，也走进了教书育人的圣地――学校。计算机辅助教学（cai）成了教育界研究的重要课题。我校也建起了多媒体电教室、多媒体语言实验室、电教控制中心、电脑室。并在级组室配置了电脑。这些为实行电化教学，开展教育科研，打下了坚实的基础。本人藉着时代的机遇，借助学校先进的电教设备，开展了计算机辅助英语课堂教学的探索，并初具成效。
一、cai符合人类思维的特点，适应时代的发展
人类社会发展到今天，现代科技在各个领域中大显身手。而我们尽管还在使用着原始的教具：黑板、粉笔等，但投影、幻灯、录像机和电视机在课堂教学的`应用正在慢慢地改变我们的传统教学模式和教学观念。而计算机的加入更加快了课堂结构的改革。方便、快捷、功能强大的计算机融合了上述各种多媒体设备的功能，由于cai具有形象性、直观性、生动活泼、信息容量大、知识结构新、应用广、效率高、效果突出等特点，故cai成了电化教学的首选。
然而，cai是否适合高中英语教学？
