My name is Audrey and I’m 20 years old.I’m a second year student at the University of California, Irvine.My major is East Asian culture, and I’m currently learning Chinese, Korean and Japanese.I’m also taking a social dance cla which I find very fun.With my major.I intend to, er, become an interpreter and hopefully I think it would be really cool if I was able to become an interpreter for my favorite singer or celebrity.I come from a big family.There is my mom, my dad, one older sister, two younger sisters, a younger and myself.My mom is a stay at home mom, and she’s taken really good care of me and my whole family.My dad is actually a dairy manager and he’s been working very hard for a long time.My sister, my older sister, just recently graduated from a university, and one of my younger sisters and my younger brother are currently high school students.And my youngest sister is, a, an elementary school student.One of the things I really enjoy doing is listening to music.I’ll listen to music, you know, just when I’m relaxing at home or doing homework or studying.I just think that it really helps me to, you know, focus and calm myself down sometimes.I usually listen to R&B or hip hop or slow music and I also like listening to ballads too.I listen to Japanese and Korean music as well, and I just really enjoy listening to those music in the language because I think it’s a good study tool and helps me practice the listening of the languages I’m practicing and learning.But also, I like how the languages sound and I like the different types of melodies and musical techniques that the Japanese and Korean use in their music.Some of my favorite singers are, Japanese singer Gakuto-Gackt and Hyde and Ito Yuna and Ayaka and a group called Kobukuro.And my favorite Korean singer is Rain.I really like the lyrics of the songs and when I’m listening to music, I try to focus on the lyrics and the meaning behind it and what the auth, like the songwriter or the singer is trying to put acro.You know, what feelings they’re trying to convey to the listener, and, you know, instead of just listening to the music for the beat or just the background and everything, I want to listen to how well they use their voice and how they put acro their emotions.So some, um, something else I do is I enjoy watching Korean and Japanese dramas, and I also watch a few American shows or dramas.And with Japanese shows I really enjoy watching Japanese comedy as well as some variety shows, one of which, you know, I really enjoy watching this show called Gaki no Tsukai.It’s really funny and I always laugh so much when I watch it.With movies, I usually like to watch, um, action and comedy and romantic movies or adventure movies.I like to, I like to watch movies that have stories behind them and, um, a good story line and, you know, good plot and just a lot of fun to watch.One of my hobbies, my main hobby is baking.I really enjoy it, you know, it’s one of my favorite activities.I started off when I was little just baking cookies and, um, I would bake chocolate chip cookies or, uh, oatmeal cookies or snicker doodles.Snicker doodles are like sugar cookies but with cinnamon and sugar as an outside coating after or on the outside.And recently I started making cakes and baking brownies and pies.And the pies are quite long proce because I make everything from scratch which means I use, you know, ingredients to make everything without using anything pre-bought or pre-made and so, with the pies, it takes a long time because I have to make the crust and everything, but it’s a lot of fun and I think it’s just a relaxing activity and it makes me happy when I bake.Um, and a thing about me is, that I‘ve been doing Karate for about, um, ten or eleven years now and been doing it since I was nine and it’s just really a major part of my life.It has helped me with so many aspects of my life, and I feel that it has really helped shape me as a person, for example, you know, when I was little, it really helped me with my self-discipline and my respect, and I learned to be very respectful, and I think it just helped me be a better person, and it’s just, it’s a good life skill that I think I’ve taken form Karate, and I, um, I’m just so happy to have, you know, had all these years of experience and been getting such a good influence from it.And I just, I also enjoy reading, and I enjoy reading, you know, adventure or mystery novels and, um, I also enjoy reading some funny books, but usually, I will read adventure novels or mystery novels, but I occasionally read history books because I really enjoy learning about Japanese and Korean an, um, Chinese history because those histories seem to be so much older, and, um, you know, ancient than the American history or British history or something cause, you know, with Chinese, there’s all the dynasties that are, that are there and that have paed and everything, and I really like the feudal type of system that Japan had with the Samurai and the, the, all the different emperors and everything.But I hope that my dream will be realized of becoming an interpreter and that’s it, that’s me.
