西北地区的缺水是十分严重的。一年365天中，几乎每天都是烈日当空。所有的人都希望能够下雨。到了雨天，村民们拿着各种各样的容器，来接取天赐的甘霖。然而这种日子毕竟太少了。每天为了能取到生活中必须的那一点点水。往往是翻山越岭，到很远的地方去挑上一担水回来。“半夜起来去翻山，翻过一山又一山。鸡叫天亮找到水，回家太阳快落山。”民谣就这样在吟唱着缺水的艰辛和无奈，在那里，每一滴水，都是极为珍贵的命脉啊！
