Welcome to the unit(Unit2, Module6)

Analysis of teaching material and students 1.This is the first period of this unit.According to the discuion of the happine, make students understand and cherish happine, to adjust their own feelings timely.2.The students like doing what they like, but they can’t expre their thoughts in English correctly.We should improve the students’ oral capacity to train the communication idea of students.Teaching goals 1.Ability goals Students are required to share their ideas with each other and think deeply about what happine is, to improve the students’ ability of speaking.2.Learning ability goals

1.Help the students learn how to talk about their opinions on happine with the help of the pictures.2.Enable the students to think about the definitions of happine to different pepole and what things they think will make themselves happy.3.Emotion and value goals 1.To cultivate the students’ qualities of cooperation and the attitudes towards happine.2.Learn to enjoy life and cherish what we have.Teaching important and difficult points

What do you do when you are happy? Step 3 Sharing information 1.Get the students to talk about the six pictures in Welcome to the unit.Divide the students into six groups ,each group talk about one picture.Picture 1 Being creative Picture 2 Doing exciting things Picture 3 Reading Picture 4 Playing sport Picture 5 Learning new things Picture 6 Spending time with family After the description of six pictures, then ask: Do you think they are happy? Why? 2.What are the things which make you happy? Ask the students to talk about their thoughts freely.Poible answers: There are many things that can make me happy.For example, eating a hearty meal, getting some new clothes, having enough money for something I really want, reading a great book, watching a really good film, making a new friend or making up with my friends after an argument, etc.2 Step 4 Discuion Different people have different understanding of happine.To some people, it means an easy life, a good job, money;to some, it may be helping others, contributions to one’s country......so let’s conduct a questionnaire survey.What’s happine to you? Friend, family, love, health, money, power…

Show some interesting pictures to let students know some useful expreions: enjoy life, have a sense of humor, willing to forgive, take exercise to keep healthy, respect the weaker, have some true friends, etc.Then ask the students to repeat the expreions, the more the better.Step 6 Summary
