1、知识性目标:To learn the language points in the passage and find out the main idea of the passage.
2、过程性目标:To know the disagreements between Liu Yu and his parents’about Liu Yu’s hobby.
3、技能性目标:Improve listening , reading , writing skills.
Train ability of the use of the target language.

Step 1:
2a. Free talk:
1. What’s your hobby?
2. Do you think hobby can get in the way of schoolwork?
3. Are you allowed to make your own decisions at home? What kinds of decisions?
Step 2:Reading
2b. First, look at the title of the passage. Answer “yes” or “no”. Find out how many in your group agree with you. Then read the passage. Does your answer change?
Step3:
2c. Read the passage again and answer the questions.
1. What is Liu Yu’s hobby?
2. What does Liu Yu want to be when hegrows up?
3. Why do Liu Yu’s parents not allow Liu Yu to practice his hobby at night?
4. Do you think Liu Yu should be allowed to practice his hobby as much as he wants? Why or why not?

2. be serious about对……是认真的
e.g. You should be serious about your job.你应该认真对待你的工作。

enter v.进来;进去Please do not enter before knocking on the door.
4. Only then will I have a chance to achieve my dream.
这是一个倒装句,正常语序是I will have a chance to achieve my dream only then.但由于与前文的连贯性及强调的需要,only then被置于句首。
