The London Eye is on your right.I.Analysis of teaching material
The material of this leon plan is from the second Students’book in Grade 7 of New standard English published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Pre.The topic of this module is Around town.It’s the second unit of Module 8.The theme of this module focuses on the living environment and travel.The function is asking for,giving and following directions.The structure is about prepositions of place and movement.After learning this module,the students can improve their skills of listening and matching places with positions,asking for and giving directions,reading and understanding brief directions and describing a map.The module task is giving direction around your hometown.II.Analysis of students
The topic of this leon is the London Eye.Students may be interested to talk about traveling.So students are eager to describe their own journey and may be excited and active in cla.Besides,they have learned the key words and sentences in advance,so students can talk about this topic actively.The Curriculum suggests three ways of learning:Autonomy learning,Cooperative learning and Inquiry learning.It’s better to learn by doing and learn by using than just listening to the teacher,so I will ask them to play games,have competitions,and retell paages,work in pairs and work in groups to get all the students involved in cla.Sometimes,they may meet difficulties when they read paages and do reading practice,so I will guide them to find ways of reading effectively.And students can also work in pairs to improve their team-work spirit.III.Teaching objectives 1.Knowledge objectives
After this cla,students will be able to use these new words correctly:tour,painting,clear,boat,off,tower,get off.turn left,and so on.And students can be able to match pictures with the words,say some places of interest London correctly and tell some brief information about them by using the new words.2.Ability objectives After this cla,students will be able to follow the tour on the map and label the places,they will be able to get details,infer the meaning from the sentences carefully.And they will be able to retell the paage by using their own words.They will also be able to describe their own journey by using the structures of prepositions and functional sentences.And they can give directions correctly.3.Moral objectives
After this cla,they will be interested to participate in cla,work in pairs and groups.They will become interested to know the culture of other countries and will be interested to introduce our hometown to others.IV.Teaching key points
1.To learn the places of interest of London.2.Reading the paage,following the directions,getting the information from the reading material,learning to infer the meanings from the sentences.Teaching difficult points 1.Showing the directions by using preposition words.2.Retelling the route.V.Teaching Method

While-reading 2 Step 1 Skimming: Reading strategy:Read quickly;only find important words or sentences.Let students skim the paage and answer the question.How many places the paage mentioned? What are they?
Step 2 Scanning:
Reading strategy:Following the number is very important to understand the paage.Have the students read the paage and put the pictures in the right order.Firstly,let students read the paage and fill in the blanks on the books.Then ask several students to come to the blackboard and put the pictures in the right order.Step 3 Careful reading: Reading strategy:While you are reading,catching the key words.Firstly,explain to the students what key words are.Then have them read the paage again with listening to the tape and pay attention to the key words.Step 1 Ask students to retell the paage according to the map which teacher shows to them.Students can describe the direction according to the map.Then give students 3mins to prepare the retelling.After that,encourage students come to to the blackboard and retell the paage.Step 2 Encourage students to describe their own journey by using preposition and functional sentences they has learned from this paage.快速的阅读,掌握文章的大致意思与

From this leon,students’ cooperative spirits have been strengthened.I design this leon according to students’ age,psychological characteristics and the new curriculum standard.I think it would be better for me to improve the teaching procedure for future use.And in this proce,I find there are lots of differences between the designed questions and the actual result.Besides,it’s important to attract students attention.So,teachers should use pictures or something else to draw students’interest and construct a relaxing cla atmosphere for student so that students can study effectively.
