Honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen, Good morning/afternoon!I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.Let’s start gueing a word.“Which word is the longest one in the world?” any idea? Well, let me give you some hints.It’s one kind of facial expreions.Although it’s the longest word, it brings people closer to each other.The answer is “smiles”.There is a word mile between the two letters “s”, about 1600 meters.Isn’t the longest word in the world? Longest as it is, smile is the most powerful and wonderful treasure for our humans.As an elementary school teacher, I feel so lucky because I am working in a place where was filled with all sorts of beautiful smiles.Briefly, my students’ smiles can bring me countle hours of joy throughout every single day.So today I would like to share with you my understanding of this longest word.My students’ smiles are the best morning greeting.Like other elementary school teachers, every morning I always stand in front of the gate of our school, and welcome a group of group students coming.They have different personalities and characteristics, some lovely, some shy and some a little bit naughty, but when they greet me, all of them smiles.Children’s smiles are more pure and sweeter than adults’.So I often told myself “how wonderful today is”!What better than this best beginning of a day.For me, these not just some simple smiles, they could be the symbol of happine, the hope of dream, the soul of beauty and the life of love.My students’ smiles have brightened me.I have more than 100 students, in my eyes, all of them are angels.Every day after cla, they prefer to surround me and told me about their stories, ask all sorts of interesting questions and even play with me.Every time when I feel frustrated, their smiles always make me chin up.I still remember there once a time, I had some trouble and felt pretty upset, I couldn’t concentrate on anything, didn’t want to talk to anyone, even I hated to have claes.However, a lovely girl come to me, she didn’t say anything but stared at me with beautiful smiles.Even now that smile still can appear in my mind, the dusty red two dimpled smile, eyebrows arched like a pair of grape-like eyes seemed to speak.Her smile seemed to say “don’t worry, everything will be alright.” Strangely, at that moment, I was comforted and encouraged.So can we say “smiles are empowered with love and you will tend to draw a more unity based dream towards your life experience?”
From then on, having smiles has become one of my educational principles.No matter
what mistakes my students make, no matter what difficulties they have, I’d like to use smiles to inspire them.For example, there is a girl, named Wang Chaoya, he doesn’t like talk and never smile, but he is good at painting.I praised him in cla and encouraged him to show me more.At first, he was reluctant to give me his works, but later on, he agreed on my comments about his paints and willing to trust me.Now he has become a positive and popular star in my cla.Ladies and gentlemen, here I want to say, a smile is not just a simple facial expreion, it could be a sentence, a gesture, a bunch of flower, or a silent company.That is to say, no matter how the smiles present, it is a key that opens the door of people’s soul.It is also a bridge that links people’s souls together.More importantly, a smile is eternal sprit that makes people feel at home.In the universal language, smile is the word that has changed the world.It is not only the longest word but the word can make people get together without differences.Now my wish is let all of us smile to the people and feel the sunshine of smiles around you.Thank you very much.
