One symbol of China is embroidery.Embroidery is viewed as a symbol of China because is a brilliant pearl in Chinese art and it has a very long history.Chinese people love embroideries because they are quite beautiful decorations, and embroidery from different regions can show different culture.Unlike the geometric designs in the Arab world, Chinese people like to make animals, plants and other natural objects as the patterns of embroideries.This relates to the paion in life and acute observations of nature, which is a notable feature of traditional Chinese culture.Embroideries are made of many tiny neat stitches, which needs consummate skills and long-term practice.It can show Chinese’s pursuit of details and perfect quality.Embroideries usually present as large sizes and bright color.The patterns of embroidery cover a larger range, from sun, moon, stars, mountains, dragons, and phoenix to tiger, flower and gra, clouds and geometric patterns, which relates to the patient, intelligence, imagination and paion in life of Chinese people and the feather of pomp, pageantry, elegance and symbolism mark of Chinese culture.In ancient China, when people first had cloth, an intelligent girl poked a hole carelely on her new wedding gown.She had no way to repair it but embroidered a small flower.As a result, the flower not only covered the hole very well, but also made the gown much more beautiful.Inspired by her, ancient Chinese began to make embroideries on clothes and other things.This story is just a legend, but it can reflect that embroidery does have a very long history in China and contains the eence of Chinese art.
