西安交通大学是教育部直属重点大学,其前身(grew out of, her predeceor was…..)是1896年创办于上海的南洋公学(Nan Yang College).1921年改称交通大学.1956年根据国家经济建设发展战略的需要,国务院决定将交通大学的主体(main body)迁往西安.1959年正式定名为西安交通大学.并被列为全国重点大学.西安交通大学是国家”七五”,”八五”重点建设的几所大学之一(with the priority in construction during the period of the 7th and 8th Five-year Plans),也是首批进入国家”211工程”建设的七所大学之一..在国家实施的”面向21世纪教育振兴行动计划(National Program of Action for Educational Revitalization toward the 21stCentury)”中被国家列为我国中西部地区唯一一所以建设世界知名高水平大学为目标的高校.2000年4月经国务院批准,西安医科大学,陕西财经学院与西安交通大学合并.Xi’an Jiaotong university , a Key universities directly under the Ministry of Education, is grew out of Nanyang College founded in 1896 and renamed Jiaotong university 1921.In answer to the national economic development strategy ,the state council decided to move the main body of Jiaotong University to Xi’an in 1956.The school was renamed Xi’an Jiaotong university in 1959 meanwhile the school was listed as key university in China.It has become one of a few universities with the priority in construction during the period of the 7th and 8th Five-year Plans and also one of seven universities which entered the construction of “211 project” of China.Xi’an Jiaotong university was listed the only one university whose target is to built a world famous university in western China in the National Program of Action for Educational Revitalization toward the 21stCentury.In April of 2000, approved by the State Council, it was merged with Xi'an Medical University and Shannxi Institute of Finance and Economics.课堂作业 2
