1. What day is / was ...? 这一句型常用来询问“某一天是星期几”。如： What day is it today? 今天星期几？What day was it yesterday? 昨天星期几？
2. hope意为“希望”，表示很有可能实现的愿望，其句型为“hope to do sth”或“hope+从句”。如：I hope she's better tomorrow. 我希望明天她会好些。We hope to see you soon. 我们希望不久能见到你。(注意：不能说hope sb to do sth)
3. 当听到有关别人的不幸的消息或不愉快的事情时，常用“I'm sorry to hear that.”来表示同情。如：-I was a bit ill. 我有点不舒服。-I'm sorry to hear that. 听到这事我很难过。
4. remember to do sth 意为“记得要做某事”，此事还没有做；而remember doing sth 意为“记得做过某事”，这件事已经做了。如：
I remembered posting the letter yesterday. 我记得昨天把信寄走了。Please remember to close the door when you leave.请你走时记住把门关上。
5. look after馕“照顾；照看”，相当于take care of 。如：You must look after yourself and keep healthy. 你一定要照顾好自己，保持身体健康。The little boy can't look after / take care of himself. 这个小男孩不能照顾自己。
6. at the same time 意为“同时”，介词at不能任意更改。如： I can see the world at the same time. 同时我能够看看世界。
7. 当句中的时间状语为yesterday morning 时，句中的时态一般用过去时。类似的时间状语还有：1) yesterday 以及含有yesterday 的短语，如：yesterday morning / afternoon / evening, the day before yesterday等；2）“last + 时间名词”，如：last week, last Sunday, last year等； 3） “一段时间 + ago”，如：two hours ago, three days ago等。如： Where was Mr King yesterday morning? 昨天金先生在哪里？
8. by the way 是一个固定短语，意为“顺便问一下；顺便说一句”。如：By the way, why did you call me? 顺便问一下，你为什么打电话给我？
9. exercise 作“运动；锻炼”讲时是不可数名词，作“练习；体操”讲时是可数名词。如：do some exercise 做运动, do morning exercises做早操。
10. 表示一日三餐的名词前面一般不用冠词，但是如果有形容词修饰则要用不定冠词a / an 。如：Every morning I get up at seven. I do some exercise and have a light breakfast. 我每天七点钟起床，运动，然后吃点简单的早餐。 He had a big lunch today.今天他吃了一顿丰盛的午餐。
