Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.设筵满屋,大家相争,不如有块乾饼,大家相安。--《旧·箴》17:

1A wicked man listens to evil lips;a liar pays attention to a malicious tongue.行恶的留心听奸诈之言。说谎的侧耳听邪恶之语。--《旧·箴》17:

4Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.子孙为老人的冠冕,父亲是儿女的荣耀。--《旧·箴》17:6

For the waywardne of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.愚昧人背道,必杀己身,愚顽人安逸,必害己命。--《旧·箴》1:32

4Seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witne who pours out lies and a man who stirs up diension among brothers.心所憎恶的共有七样,就是:高傲的眼,撒谎的舌,流无辜人血的手,图谋恶计的心,飞跑行恶的脚,吐谎言的假见证,并弟兄中布散分争的人。--《旧·箴》6:16-19

Wisdom, dwell together with prudence;I poe knowledge and discretion.智慧以灵明为居所,又寻得知识和谋略。--《旧·箴》8:12

Stolen water is sweet;food eaten in secret is delicious!

偷来的水是甜的,暗吃的饼是好的。--《旧·箴》9:17

He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.夏天聚敛的,是智慧之子。收割时沉睡的,是贻羞之子。--《旧·箴》10:

5The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.行正直路的,步步安稳。走弯曲道的,必致败露。--《旧·箴》10:9

Love covers over all wrongs.爱能遮掩一切过错。--《旧·箴》10:12

The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.义人的勤劳致生,恶人的进项致死。--《旧·箴》10:16
